Can Grousing go viral? NOW ONE MONTH TO GO!

I'm already dreaming of warm September mornings and evenings, the feel of a shotgun, the smell of burned powder, an explosion of feathers and the taste of blue grouse fresh from the pan...

Local rivers will be closed sept-Oct. I have a new 20g and a long list of overgrown roads to hit.

Bang!

HA!
That girl is gonna fatten up nicely by fall.
Great photo, BTW.  I plan on doing a little wildlife photography also this summer. Grouse make great photo ops because they're so stupid sometimes.

Bacon wrapped grouse cooked over an campfire, is one of my favorite meals.

Last weekend I was driving an old logging road outside of North Bend and saw 5-6 grouse chicks crossing the road. I got out to try and get a pic, all of a sudden momma exploded out of the bushes 3 ft to my right, she did a semi circle around me with some violent wing flaps and next thing I know chicks and momma had all disappeared. It was wild

You're damn lucky she wasn't packing a gun!

The only hunting license I bought this year is small game, bitter sweet. Anyway so looking forward to this Sept-March  :brew:

I can't wait. I finally found a good spot last year and knocked a couple down. Now it is my new favorite meat. Got a trip with my dad planned since he hasn't been out grouse hunting in a long time. It's going to be a great year.

I'll be giving it a shot this year.  My dog has a season under her belt now and we're itching to get out and hunt some birds!

I wish my dad was still around, because I'd turn him loose with a far better shotgun than he ever owned.  About three weeks and counting....
