WABDR for early Muzzleloader?
« on: June 25, 2017, 08:43:44 AM »
The Washington Backroad Discovery Route looks like it goes through several open GMU's.  Looks like Soiuxon, Wind River, Lewis River, and Packwood units.  (it's on google WABDR)

Headed north from Carson, it starts on NF-6808 to  NF-68, to NF-66, to NF- 1831, to NF-18, to NF-24 (West of Trout Lake), to NF 23, to NF-21 toward Packwood.  Anyway......

It looks to all be in Gifford Pinchot. Is that true, or do I need to purchase access permits from timber companies? Would that be an amazing hunting adventure to take my son on, or a long drive down a busy gravel road?

Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I sure don't think you'd need any access permits. You'd only need a Weyerhaeuser access permit for units such as the Coweeman, Toutle, Margaret, and Winston.

Are you talking about elk hunting, deer hunting, or both?

Thanks for the reply.  We are elk hunting, although I did get a deer tag.

Be sure and check the road systems in packwood and lewis river. Quite a few washed out roads. Sounds like fun. Those roads always have quite a bit of vehicle traffic. Use the roads to access, hunt away from them

Someone posted that the 22? and 25? are out?  Is there someone I can call about the roads?
