I'd shoot that on opening morning.

If he could keep the velvet on , I think it would be an awesome mount.
What am I saying, it is awesome, LOL

Great buck, what a trophy.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

My first buck shot in 1999 was in full velvet in October.  He had no balls and didn't ever rub.  He still has all the velvet today. It should be easy to preserve

Why, if he had the governor tag, didn't he keep his posse on that thing till it was hard horned?  It would be tough to pass for us normal hunters, but I don't think he just stumbled upon that opening day.

Archery hunts started on the 10th; not to mention the multiple "governors" type tags in NV.

What's the stigma against shooting bucks in velvet?

Personal preference.  That's it.

Don't know about any stigma, but I greatly prefer bucks out of velvet.  Just like I prefer ripe tomatoes over green ones.
