Man they have some beasts running around down there.  I think they are also a smaller deer so they look even BIGGER!    Trophy of a lifetime there.  I like that its true width too, not because of some cheater point

Boy, what a beauty.

Wow, what a buck!

Holy Smokes. That is incredible.

Not sure the draw of a 40 inch buck would make me want to hunt in territory controlled by Mexican Drug cartel though :dunno:
You might get a hunt for 10K and spend another 20K in ransom money to get home :yike:

I've often wondered if that spread puts them at a fighting disadvantage.  Seems a tall 22" buck would fit right inside of him and gouge his face off.   :dunno:
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

I in no way want to minimize the awesomeness off this buck but perhaps a fence kept that from happening? I don't see how width is an advantage to the buck. Obviously low deer density and genetics could encourage the width thingy.

I'm pretty sure it was a free range hunt, this is not the first 40" buck I've seen from the Sonora, the genetics in that area produce bucks that look like this.

Some of the biggest racked mule deer pictures on the internet are straight out of Mexico. Who would have thought!

What a buck! Like his fairly classic, not so trashy, extra wide frame
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Actually those Mule Deer down there are big deer. Head on this deer looks huge in the field photo. I mounted a huge 3 point from down there, a few years ago, (titled "Big Three" on the Forum, I think) that I bought McKenzie's biggest mule deer head and still had to make it considerably larger. Very cool looking deer. Thanks for sharing bearpaw.
We give your trophy that final compliment!

That's good to know.   They obviously don't scrimp on the bone on their heads.  I assumed they were like Texas whitetails.
