we picked up a limit of coho this morning, seems to be a  decent bite in the morning,   we tried and evening fishing trip after work but got a little windy  both days we tried.

we were  in 200 ft of water 30 ft down

I just spent a week fishing the north coast and there is still a ton of 10-12 lb coho feeding out there. Some will start heading down the straights soon. Fishing should only get better.

the best we got today was probably 8 lbs. threw back a number of non clipped ones in the same range. I had 3 captains on board who are gonna be fishing the soldiers for salmon event that are not familiar with the local waters. I will be back in the morning with a guy from montana and another captain and we will mark gps on where we find fish . I recieved some pictures of some real nice ones caught from shore at point no point today , so based on that and the intel from fishngamereaper there should be fish passing thru for a while.

Skunked does not entice one to make the run from Everett.

Me either, unfortunately there aren't many choices out there if a guy wants to fish without driving forever or paying for a ferry.

On a good note, the new boat has ridiculous fuel mileage, we ran from Everett to Edmonds, did some crabbing on the way, trolling all day and ran back at 30-35 mph and probably burned under 7 gallons for the day.  Maybe even closer to 5.

dropped the crab pots off this morning and decided to run down for a couple hours before work  One coho  and one pink . had to release 2 other coho because they were not clipped. action for me has been south of the oil docks right around the weather bouy......     also shortened my leader up to 30 inches and the bite has increased for what its worth, will prolly be back out sat morn.
