What happened to the "average slope" on Google earth pro?
« on: August 25, 2017, 01:16:54 PM »
I recently bought a new pc and downloaded the new google earth pro. On the old google earth, using the path feature you could always pull up the elevation profile and it would give you data including distance, elevation gain/loss, maximum slope, and average slope. With the new "Google Earth Pro" all of the same info is available except the average slope. What happened to it? Is there an option to get average slopes back? If not does anyone know a mathematical formula?

Does this help?

View a path’s elevation profile

Explore the slope, elevation, and distance along a path.
1.Open Google Earth.
2.Draw a path or open an existing path.
3.Click Edit and then Show Elevation Profile.
4.An elevation profile will appear in the the lower half of the 3D Viewer. If your elevation measurement reads "0," make sure the terrain layer is turned on. •The Y-axis of the chart displays the elevation, and the X-axis of the chart displays the distance.
•To see the elevation and distance at different points along a path, mouse over the path.
•To see data for a portion of the path, left-click and hold. Then, move the cursor along the path you want to see.
•To change measurement systems on a Windows computer, select Tools and then Options. Then, under "Units of measurement," choose feet or meters.
•To change measurement systems on a Mac, select Google Earth and then Preferences. Then, under "Units of measurement," choose feet or meters.

Not really, I am doing everything like I used to on the older version from my old pc, but the average slope is just plain missing from this newer version

I drew a path, right-clicked on it, selected Properties > Show Elevation Profile and it works for me.
 :dunno:
