Upland hunting in central and eastern WA
« on: September 04, 2017, 05:42:31 PM »
So over the last 6 years my buddy and I have hunted different counties throughout central and some of eastern WA. I'm not looking for anyone's honey holes to hunt just hoping for suggestions on where to go this mid Oct. Looking at hunting any and all species of upland. Just trying to get out for a week and have a good time.

Thanks

I've spent many years hunting grouse over there in Okanogan but lately everything is either burning or already burned. Getting to be an old story. Couldn't begin to make a recommendation after all that's been going on. Probably go further east.

The property owners around Palouse and Colfax have always been welcoming in my experience. I know it's outside of your question but block management in Montana is amazing.
Lead em if they're running.

WDFW website is a tremendous resource to access both private and WDFW lands. If you do a little cross reference between this info. and the game bird harvest numbers by county (on this same website and the printed regs.) you can get a good idea of areas to try. Also, the Regional WDFW Office for each area can be a great source of specific information:

Was over in the Methow grouse hunting this weekend and was able to pick up 4 birds in a couple days. Lots of hiking and my dog worked his butt off.
