Fish and Game hat
« on: October 17, 2017, 10:47:10 AM »
While hunting an area off Centerville Hwy. I somehow lost my WDFW fish and game ball cap. Green in color with dept logo. It was my favorite hat. It was very special to me, my father got it for me just before he passed away. I consider it my luck hat. And have never gone anywhere without it. Not sure if I lost it in the hills or left it on top of my truck and it may have fallen somewhere on the Centerville hwy. Between Lyle and Centerville. Im a grown man, and I was on the verge of tears. If anyone has found that. I would love to have it back, I know this is one in a million. But it means so much to me.

So, I was talking to a friend yesterday and somehow got on a story that he had found a wdfw hat. I say wow how weird is that, was just reading this lost N found section where a guy had lost one. How many lost wdfw hats can be lost out there ?? So he had it in his trk, and I couldn't remember exactly where you had lost yours. But I have it. However, he found this one in capitol forest...........So ?????   Damn thought I was gonna have good news for you..

I have 2 but never wear them in the woods.  Don't want to risk losing them.

Maybe it is the one. I was just reading on the forum about hearing of guys taking off their wedding ring and having a crow swoop down and flying off with it. Maybe one of those same crows flies to Klickitat grabs game hats and rings and takes them to capitol forest?? :dunno: :chuckle:

Sad news, happy again! Thanks to Man Tracker. He sent me a new patch that I can sew onto a hat. Ya know, I thought it wouldn't be as special as the one I lost. But knowing that there are still good people out there, warms my heart. And I will wear it with pride. It brings back those lost feeling of my Dad, along with new hope for us all. Thank you Man Tracker, your kindness will always be rewarded. And as always, I find the forum people are just a bunch of good people!

That is the patch I went to work under for Wa. Dept of Game back in the early 70's.  Special place in my heart.  Have several on old uniform shirts and jackets.  Good old days when we actually valued hunters and fishermen and we didn't have all these goofy money generating rules and regulations.

Sad what the WDFW has turned into, I can only imagine your disappointment.

WA Centurian is right.  That old orange patch brings back lots of memories.  I think those who wore it really recognize the long mostly downhill slide it has been.  Sportsmen and women and the resource deserves better...
