This one works really well for that...

Western Style

209 Rifle

But then variety of a Knight DISC you can do the same thing...

Plus right now I think MidwayUSA is having a sale on them... with free shipping

Maybe I miss read the OP's original post - I thought he was asking about a ML rifle he could easily convert to and from a modern 209 to caps or vice versa... with open sights...

Yes, that is what I am asking.  I hunt different states, some allow 209 some don't, looking for a single gun I can convert easily for different trips( and When washington legalizes 209, my guess is 3 years or less)

Ok thanks for the clarification...

That is exactly what I do here.  During rifle season I just remove the peep install the scope.  Pull out the quick release bolt and install a 209 breech plug...

The bolt is the kicker here.... You might need to get two different bolt housing one for Western and one for 209.   So if you ordered a Western legal ML - then you would need to order a 209 bolt housing and breech plug - that would allw you to swap out the hammer between bolts...

This is the conversion to 209 for the D Extreme

thanks, is there a certain brand or model that are easier to swap or more efficient after swapping than others. I switched one many years ago and it didn't work worth a #@$@. So long ago i can't remember what kind it was or any details.

You know I think you can convert the better CVA's back and forth also - but, I am not well versed in the CVA brand. It would be a break open rifle.  I think it just involves swapping out parts also.

I do no that the Knight conversions work very and are really easy...

Knight and CVA are currently the two brands that you can switch back and forth. Since Sabotloader has already done a good job explaining the Knight's, I'll add some info on the CVA's. All of the CVA Northwest guns can be converted to Northwest, with the simple purchase of a firing pin and breech plug. This costs about $40 for both parts and takes less than 2 minutes to change out.

The question is... Why do you need to convert?

If you hunt with a #11 or musket in your current state, why change it when you always are set up?

Best setup I could think of is a cva take you all of 2 minutes too change the breech plug and firing pin. Then if you use a Williams ace in the hole scope rail which has a peep on the back get qd rings on a scope you'd be set to use anywhere and everywhere with or without optics.
