Hope you enjoy my camera
« on: November 11, 2017, 09:16:00 PM »
Well I knew it was a matter of time unfortunately, I had my first trail cam stolen. I put it up on a well used elk trail last Monday and was only going to leave it in a week and grab it back out today and what do you know, it's gone  :bash: :bash: :bash: I hate freaking thieves

Was it cabled to a tree or just a nylon strap?

To bad they don't have a GPS tracking chip in them like in your cell phone. Thieves really suck and should be delt with accordingly. Sorry for you camera loss, maybe it doesn't pay to put cameras out when people are out there walking in the woods scouting for deer & elk.

Having a camera stolen sucks and I'm sorry for your loss.  It seems like it happens a lot.  That said, and I'm not sure where you put yours, but quit putting your cameras in popular easy to get to locations.  I know some people are not physically able to go more remote, but the more popular easy to access locations are unfortunately going to me tampered with more.

Bummer Tom.  This wouldn't have happened if Idaho still had deer tags.

I’m gonna say 75% of these suppose cam thievery is from bears. You don’t use some sort of cable to secure it to the tree. It’s gonna end up at the bottom of a canyon. Elk will even knock it loose with just a nylon strap. I’ve had cams moved, flipped, turned whatever direction. All from an animal. So do your self a favor and buy a cable lock or build one yourself. That’s just my  :twocents:

No cable or box but never have used one and never had an issue where I put them..live and learn. I'm not out much money but it was in a promising spot and only there for a week  to see when the elk moved through...I don't put them on roads so you can see them if that's what your saying....between me and a friend we have close to 20 cams and this was the first taken

Sorry to hear it.

I've had a couple walk off.....  It's a crappy feeling to get to your spot and see your camera is gone.

It's why I run cheap cams.

Nothing worse than a thief or a liar.  Sign of the times but rest easy, that worthless piece of trash who stole it is or will have a crappy life by his own hand.  Karma is a mofo.

Idaho does not restrict the use of cameras during the season or any other time of the year...you are thinking of Montana.  Thankfully Idaho rejected that idea this year.

I'm definatly trying this with a camera that's not working anymore, tired of thieving *censored*s.
