Swakane late archery
« on: November 19, 2017, 09:06:55 PM »
I have hunted this unit during modern. Hoping to get over there a couple days for archery. Any tips? How’s the weather been? And the deer, they rutting?  Any tips will help.  PM me if you prefer. Side note also gonna check out a piece of Property up on olalla canyon rd. Might be looking to buy a decent piece up there. Thanks in advance

Rut has stalled a bit, but 2nd estrous should fire again here shortly.   Not sure about the migration.   Not much migrated in my old haunts.  I’m guessing there are just that few animals.   I’m sure the Swakane is in better shape

Slow for me today. Heavy rain and lots of fog. One of the worst years for me in 20+years we will see what tomorrow brings.

Going to be tough hunting for a few days

I was glad I put wheel spacers on my ram 1500 so I could  run steel on all four. Those vbars on the rear take a bite.

Although it would suck for accessing just about everywhere, I almost wish they would just close the gates on all these roads until things dry up a bit or freeze. These roads are just going to get rutted and with the additional rain will start to wash and it all goes downhill from there! And we all know they won't get repaired for years if at all. Might also help out with what's left of the deer herd to take some pressure off of them.
