Aladdin moose hunt
« on: October 19, 2017, 06:26:37 AM »
Does anybody have any info on where to scout for moose in the Aladdin unit? Is the week of Thanksgiving to late to hunt? Any information would be very helpful and appreciated.  Randy Rosenkranz

Anywhere there is open public land.   Lots of private.   They start dropping their antlers about Thanksgiving, so that will be up to you whether its too late or not.

I would be over there Nov 1 if I were you.  There are very few clearcuts in this unit, it's mostly National Forest. Get on Google earth and locate those clearcuts then be there glassing  at first and last light. If you find some fresh sign then get out and still hunt the timber. Good luck, it's not a slam dunk hunt, but if you put in your time and work you can fill your tag.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Thanks to everybody that has provided information on my Aladdin moose hunt. After 9 days of hunting I finally got a Bull on Nov. 25th.  I passed up a cow the night before because we were in a new area that was holding moose. We had a good time hunting moose and deer in the 2 weeks we were there. This state really needs to do something about the Wolfs. There were tracks and sign everywhere and hardly any moose and deer. It seems to me that the wolf is ruining hunting here in Washington State. Especially Colville! Bringing back hound hunting for cougars would help too. What has happened to this state and who is really running it?  Thanks again guys!!!

Conservation Northwest runs the WDFW. Get CNW out of the pro-wolf control and you might have a shot at controlling the wolves.
