The Sabotloader Buck
« on: November 21, 2017, 09:44:49 AM »
This is Sabotloaders buck.
Last year I/we had a disaster when my A1 muzzy went to pot when I attempted to sight it in...long story short I ended up borrowing a buddies gun last season. So this year I had two guns, the exact same gun, Thompson Black Diamond. In September I began trying to get new sights for both...I attempted (for months) to put front sights on both guns that were not made for and did not exactly fit right. I shoulda known better!! As it were I modified em, called Williams sights about 13 times (they were also great), got new screws, drilled out the screw holes, got special epoxy, returned front sights and got taller front sights...went to mount the ramp on the front and failed miserably. It just wasn't gonna work. I shoulda known better.
Ol Sabotloader was there to help me every step of the way. We decided to just put the old sight on the front and use the new WGRS peep (actually made for my gun) on the back. I sighted her in a few times and she was finally shooting pretty good!! I just wanted to thank Sabotloader for all the help, time, encouragement and dealing with a bumbling moron (me) he's a great guy for sure!! All in all I spent 10x longer effin with my gun than I did hunting but in the end the result was what we had worked for. Thanks a ton SABOTLOADER!!!

Mr. Mykiss  It is really nice when a "plan comes together".  Glad everything worked out for you... Still want to do some checking on a FP rear peep..

Great job Sabot!!

Just so you know - I did not get to shoot that fine looking animal and if truth be know - I really did not have that much to do with it either, other than answering some questions.  Mr.Mykiss already has a huge advantage hunting with a ML - he is an accomplished archery hunter - which gives him a lot of the tools needed to hunt with a ML.

There. Now it's "The Sabot loader buck" :)
Yeah...ol' S.L. had a ton to do with it...coaching, advice, encouragement...oh yeah and hours on the phone and PM's and emails answering my silly questions and dealing with me as a person...which can be a handful at times, so my wife says.

Nice buck. We're blessed in this part of the world to get those consistently high brow tines... and a guy like Sabot of course!

While there isn't a FP version built for the Black Diamond, Williams does make a WGRS peep sight. I'm sure one of their FP's could be modified in some way to fit the gun though.
