Bone, I'll take your rejects any day. I need to get out with my camera sometime soon for critters and I'd be thrilled with a photo like that. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

I agree, the blurry rock doesn't look good. It takes up about 40% of the picture.

Besides the deer I love the colors of the rock he's standing behind as well as the color of the sky. What time of day?

I agree. If the rocks were sharp it would have worked. depth of field. This is always the choice in this kind of thing. EXCELLENT deer though.
