Kauai fishing
« on: December 15, 2017, 08:52:03 PM »
My wife and I are going to Kauai March 1st to the 10th.
We are planning on going fishing. We are leaning towards captain Scott with Lahela Sport Fishing. Does anyone have any experience with fishing out of Kauai?

I fished with Lahela a few years ago.  Seemed like a good guy and got us on some fish.  Reasonable rates also.  The deck hand ended up getting stabbed in the hand by a blue marlin but he didn't cut the trip short.  We also caught some wahoo.

Not sure if you’re into bass fishing or not, but other then Florida I think Kauai is the only state that has peacock bass.  Probably wrong on that assumption, but that’s some fishing I wish I had done while I was there. Have fun and take lots of pictures!

Same here.  Back when we went you didn't need a license either.  Just start fishing.  There is so much to see it is tough to find time to fish.

Bay on the north end has some bonefish, not easy but go anyway.  Bunch of turtles too.

$200.00 for 4-6-or 8 hour trip, doesn't sound to bad. I'll have to check into this more as we will be there as well the first week of March

You know what I like about him is you can keep some of the catch. We are staying  in a Condo so we can have some fresh fish on our trip as well.
When I talked to him he said that it would be possible to catch Tuna and Dorado that time of year.
