I have a Springfield M6 Scout in 22lr./.410. May be the best rabbit / grouse gun ive ever had for its purpose. I paid $150 new in 2004. Just checked gun broker, they must have stopped manufacturing them or something as they seem to be going for $600 plus now...

I don't know what it is about combo guns. There always seems to be a lot of interest in them, but no one manufactures them for very long

I've been interested in the combo gun for grouse, but have yet to find a shop that carries one in the northwest to be able to handle one first.

I know, and they seem to always pick the 22lr/mag 410 as thier rollout.
One would think that something new like the 17wsm or 223, with 20 or 12 gauge would be a good start. And then the 22lr/mag with the 20 for all the rabbit, grouse quail guys, especially since you could go 3" for a 20 with some kick.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
