Trees going away. Post your Prescott Unit Tree Farm Bulls
« on: January 26, 2018, 10:43:42 AM »
With the Boise Tree Farm going away and now looking at the hunting proposal for special Permits, the late Prescott tags are no more. I thought it would be cool to have a thread with some of the bulls killed in this unique hunting situation. There have been some good bulls taken with these tags. Does anyone know when the first year of the late tags was?

I saw the elimination of permits...what's going on with the tree farm?

My Dads bull from 2015 the first of the 4 permit dates. Not one of the big boys but the biggest we saw in 7 days of hunting.

2013 5x6. Only bull I saw (general season) in 4 days (saw a calf day 1 and a cow day 3). I'd walked into the edge of the herd and when this guy and I looked at each other, he was bedded at 20 yards. I saw horns and shot. The place ERUPTED! My dad and our friend were in the truck on one of the surrounding roads and said bulls were running everywhere.  Bummer it's going away!

I've got a bunch more pics of bulls killed out there, mostly just average five or six points.  The two in the nwsportsman mag where a couple of dandies though. Never saw anything that big on my hunt.

Have to disagree with you there.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

:yeah: those elk don't step FOOT off that tree farm! we drove the perimeter bordering alfalfa fields with standing water and there was not ONE track in the dust!  :yike: I think the surrounding land has people that take a poke at them the second they step out of the tree farm. Not a lot of places to hide outside the trees! without those trees, those elk will scatter and likely be shot within a few years unless they find another spot to hang out where they're not harassed.
