Tag.  But the above link just says to season as per normal cast iron, not repair the chip.

I have the same problem Nock and was wondering about a some good 'ol JB weld. Problem is with expansion/contraction it would probably work loose.
I've just been cooking on it with the chip about a dime size. Get my daily iron supply that way.  ;)
Doesn't seem to be getting any larger.

Yes, I think the biggest worry is more breaking off in food and then ingesting it. Guess I shouldn’t  worry, I’ve put worse thru my gut.  :chuckle:

Have some elk stew in mine tonight. Not worried about it. Just kinda pissed about the chip. Will still be a hand me down to the kids I would imagine.
