Back around '90 a buddy of mine loaded up his Kayak, slid it into the water from his back yard in Silverdale and paddled from there up through the inside passage to Alaska. :o

Was this for the R2AK? I have a friend that attempted last time and is building a boat to do it this year.

No, he just up and left one day. Said he found himself on that trip and really needed it, although he said at times he thought it was all over.

Quick update and pics -
Wx has been sketchy until yesterday, slowed me down a bit. Arrived KTN, picked up Rich. He got to experience St Patricks day in Ketchikan.  They take it pretty seriously here, with a 50' parade and everything.
Went and sport fished spot prawns yesterday, ended up with a fine haul.  Rich is running gear like a champ.

I'm betting on a barn door with that setup.

Go get em, boys.

Add a nice salmon belly to that and you're in the money.

Just crossed back into the good ol' US of A.  Was a great trip, we had fun and made some meat.  Another 2.5 hours to Anacortes.  More pics later
