GMU 290
« on: March 10, 2018, 07:09:08 PM »
Hey guys,
Was thinking about a little hike with the dog tomorrow. Was wondering if there’s any public ground to hike around in that unit.
Someone mentioned Dodson Rd as a possible access point, but on google earth it all looks like private farms. Just dreaming of drawing that tag someday and thought I might as well head out and have a little looksy since I have the day free. Thanks!

Lots of public land and yes there are several access points right off Dodson. Check the Go Hunt feature on the wdfw website, it shows the wdfw lands in the area and the other public lands also.
Gobblers only, all jakes must walk

Well me and my dog took a drive and hiked around this unit a bit (5-6 miles total). Cool area, definitely need your onx as the land is tough to see public/private.. we hiked, saw some beautiful country, didn’t find any sheds and didn’t see a single deer.
