Well I’m looking for a ou shotgun. Unfortunately don’t know squat about them I once shot a browning citori once. I saw a cz woodchuck g2 in 12 gauge I found a place that had 3 of them. Just don’t know anything about them. I was going to use it for chukars, quail and pheasant. May just get a stoeger m3000. Not even sure if u can get a good one for 700.00 most of the ones I see are 1500.00.

I shoot my stoeger condor 20g quite a bit and haven't had any issues with it.  I'm sure it's a cheaply made piece of junk to some but it has never failed me, it kills birds and I bought it for well under 700.

I bought it right after I passed up a Red Label that was twice the price but much prettier.

There is a difference between a shotgun that is used only for hunting, and one that needs to handle the demands of thousands of rounds of trap and skeet, as well as hunting.  I might shoot around 300 shells a year.  There are many, many options that will handle that type of use.

Citoris are miroku, some early Charles daly also.  SKB was marketed by Ithaca for some time. Sabatti might be a Remington or Charles daly.  The new SKB is Turkish and pricey, look for the Japan made ones.  Good searching and hunting

I have a solid japanese SKB O/U that I bought because the Ruger plant for red labels was striking.  1995ish?  That thing has been a tank, and I have seen some Red Labels having QC issues over the same time frame.  So, another vote for looking at SKB, and just go over the gun carefully for fit/finish, damage, and action.

Agree completely on the Miroku comments.  I have a 1960's Charles Daly Miroku 28 gauge that I found in mint condition back in the 90's for a bargain price.  It was a gun I lusted after as an airman stationed at Charleston AFB in South Carolina during the 60's.  At $375 back then when new, just too expensive on an airman's salary especially with a wife and son.  However as one ages and has more disposal income, dreams of youth become reality.

Look at those older Daly Miroku's.  Bargain prices in 12 and 20 gauges.  Back in the day many considered them every bit as good as the Browning Superimposed O/U's.

Good luck in your search.

I have a Stoeger Condor that i really like. Used it hard for 3 seasons now and hasn't had one issue. Its not fancy nor does it have the "Name Brand" but it gets the job done. Also, it keeps me from carrying a $2000 dollar gun in the chukar hills.

Not even sure if u can get a good one for 700.00 most of the ones I see are 1500.00.

CZ has a growing following and most people who own them like them.

I have a CZ Woodcock G2 and it has been a great gun for the money and it came with a multi year warranty. .

Tristar puts out some very affordable doubles as well and I know several guys who have used them without fail. They also come with a 5 year warranty.

I also have a Stoeger Condor Supreme that I bought a little over 10 years ago. Never a failure. But if I had to do it again and wanted a sub $1000 O/U I would buy CZ.

These guns are made for hunting and some light duty at the range. If you intend to go pound out thousands upon thousands of rounds shooting clays then spend some more money and buy a more expensive gun. But for the budget conscious hunter who wants a double I don’t think you can go wrong with CZ. Particularly the newer ones since their parts are largely CNC’d now.

Or to frame it another way. You can spend $1500-$2000 on a double or you can spend $700ish on a double with a warranty and if you get 10 years out of it is that really a failure?
