Mute Swan
« on: March 19, 2018, 11:13:34 AM »
Spotted this guy down at Salmon Creek trail today while jogging.  He was huge compared to the tundras who were steering clear of him.  Sure wish one of these would fly over during season. As far as everything I've read they're an invasive species and legal to shoot.

Id call wdfw to see if you can shoot it even thought its not waterfowl season due the fact it is an invasive specie so It could be open season on it depending on what they say.

No hunting allowed at the Salmon Creek trail, also not sure I would make it out alive with all the stroller pushers and dog walkers on the trail.

I'm 99.9% sure it is a mute.  Also I'm aware that the swans in our area are tundra, I meant to type tundra but for some reason typed trumpeter.

Looks like a mute swan. I guess start patterning him to see if you can bag him on a hunt area.

Probably roosts on Green Lake or Shillapoo area.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
