East Side Info
« on: March 22, 2018, 06:16:41 AM »
Thinking about grabbing the grandkids and heading to the east side for trying to find Bigfoot, shed hunting and do some pond fishing.  A couple of questions basically.  Is the pond across from Oak Creek feeding station stocked and when.  Or are there any other ponds in that area stocked to include Yakima or out of Ellensburg.  While out in the woods are there any special calls I can use to get Bigfoot within camera range for the grandkids.  We will be doing some tramping through the woods ( I do know the restrictions for Oak Creek) and they are convinced he is out there. Any info would help and enjoy the outdoors.

All the lakes around E-Burg are stocked and open. Fio Rito and Matoon both have good shore access and lots of fish. There are some ponds east of Yakima along I-90 that are planted. I don't know about the pond across from Oak Creek.

As far as bigfoot calls... I usually walk around yelling, "Hey squatch you filthy B@$%&$*! Get over here!" Hasn't worked yet. Could try a calf in distress call, could get interesting.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Normally tims pond across from oak creek wildlife area is stocked in early April, however this year due to construction of new ADA access paths, fishing piers and restroom additions the pond will not be stocked or open to the public until late April or early may however it will be receiving more fish then in past years.  All ellensburg and Yakima area lower elevation lakes were stocked in early march and should still have good opportunity

Thanks for the information, got to work around the work schedule but there is plenty to do and see on the east side.  Grandma say's that we are not allowed to go to try to find Mel's Hole.  I just don't understand her hesitation on this matter.  I'll read the story to the little Lovely's maybe they can sway her.  Enjoy spring and good luck this coming hunting season.
