They are out

and about.  A midsized bear was treed a couple of days ago in unit 3 of the Idaho Panhandle.  Not sure if the guy was chasing lions and treed incidentally or what.

A lady had a bunch of rabbits killed in Duvall last week. Bear came back 2 nights in a row and got a total of 8 rabbits and destroyed their hutches, then the 3rd night came back again but they had hotwire and fencing up so damage done.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Have not been there yet this spring . but that's the unit my son and I hunt . Quite a few bears there, and unit 4 has some Big Bears.

Buddy just sent me a picture of a big old bear in the back of a game wardens truck in sultan today. They told him they found it lol. Pretty sure from the blood on the tailgate coming from the mouth it was shot or maybe roadkill? He said it was still fresh and the game warden was giving it to tulalip tribe. I will see if I can figure out how to post the picture.

I did see the video, looked like a color phased bear with several walkers at the bottom of the tree.  Bear got nervous and bailed and the dogs gave chase in patchy snow.

We had a bear come in last week and tear apart our 4 deer targets, same thing happened last year in the summer but he left the bear target alone both times.  I hope with them out and moving I can find one in the huckleberry unit next weekend.
