Mulehunter!!!

Good for you and your daughter!  Glad to see ya back on here, I didn't know you were making that all happen (with some great "help")

Congrats!     Very, very cool.

Birds were really gobbling like mad this morning. Two birds down already, we should have two more down, but that's OK, there will be plenty more chances.

Birds are dropping daily, Mike is our most recent hunter to tag out, and that bird on the right first name was "Goliath", congrats Mike!

Birds are on fire, we killed 7 more today, most hunters are taking 2 birds.

INCOMING, LOOK OUT!
Yesterday John and Spencer started their hunt, we called several birds and they hammered three, we almost got the fourth bird about 6 pm. This morning we set up on a loudmouth gobbler, but then hens started waking up all around us, we were about 80 yards from the tom but he had a straight line of sight to us, I got more aggressive trying to out talk the hens on roost, I think the tom seen one of us move slightly and he must have thought we were a hen already on the ground, he set his wings and come straight at us, I seen his legs drop to land and his wings beating to slow down, I thought he was going to hit us, so did my hunter (John)! I've never thought a tom was going to hit me before, it was both exciting and somewhat unnerving, at the last second the big tom veered left and hit the ground running, John was so taken by the experience that he never fired a shot, nonetheless what an amazing and exciting experience, as I type this story I'm still jacked about that experience. We gathered our wits and slipped out of the area. We hunted other property for another few hours and then John put the smack down on another big tom with 1 inch spurs to finish the hunt. Congrats Spencer and John it was an awesome hunt with you guys, see you next year!  :IBCOOL:

For over a week we've been seeing single hens in the same spots, hens are leaving the toms to nest. We've had a great season but running out of hunters and still have plenty of big toms to hunt, if you are interested in hunting turkey this spring send me a message or give me a call and we will make it happen! Unlike many other guides, we have plenty of great private properties and we kill birds almost every day that we hunt! We will get you onto birds!

Love this thread.  You dads who are thinking about how to introduce kids to hunting, this is a great opportunity.

Another Twofer
This morning was the first morning of Steve's hunt, we were in position 30 minutes before shooting time. Pretty soon the gobblers started singing, wow they were gobbling up a storm, finally down come the hens and here come the gobblers, three of them strutting right in front of us. Two big ones were ined up but Steve had to wait for hens to clear, finally all clear and the gobblers are still lined up, whammo, two Merriam's toms down with one shot. I love it when a plan comes together! Congrats Steve!

Idaho Spring Bear Hunts
We've got bear hitting baits and hounds are ready to go too. We start our first hunt one week from today. I've still got room for a couple more bear hunters. Tags are available over the counter, send me a message if interested in a good bear hunt.
