Bear are out pretty good now, I've been seeing poo and tracks, one pretty good bear track, probably a couple hundred pounder, I hunted  one evening and yesterday morning but couldn't find him, hope to be back out again soon.

Now that's what I been waiting for!  Heading for your country in the morning.  Looks like I missed the full moon.

Kevin has hunted with us for 20 seasons, today he bagged his best bird ever after 2.5 hours of calling at the same bird. With 1.25" spurs and an estimated weight of 22 to 25 pounds it's most likely the biggest bird we've taken this season. (I'll get a scaled weight when we pull him out of the freezer, he is wrapped in a nylon for the trip to the taxidermist for a life size mount). Congrats my friend on an outstanding bird!  :hello:

It was our pleasure having you here!
We weighed Kevin's bird, it was just under 23 pounds, he is getting it mounted lifesize strutting, just like it was when he pulled the trigger.

Last night I roosted birds with two brothers from Tennessee, Ricky & Steve Thompson, they are after a bird from each state and Ricky is writing a book about their adventures. We found three good mature toms to go after this morning. A few hours ago Ricky sent me his selfie, he called in and notched his first tag on a soaking wet Washington tom, congrats Ricky!

Ricky's brother Steve nailed his first Washington bird later this morning, congrats to Steve! The guys are going to relax the rest of the day, we'll hopefully roost some more birds tonight and they will hunt again tomorrow.

Congrats to Kevin, nice bird. Although I was not successful I had a great time with Daniel chasing birds. I will definitely come back 👍 Thanks again Dale and Tara for your hospitality.

Seems like every time you and Daniel zigged the birds zagged, crazy how it seems to work out sometimes. Next time the birds will pay!  :chuckle:

We also had a husband and wife in camp, I think you met them, the husband killed two birds but the wife had a box of cartridges that the factory forgot to put the lead pellets into. Next time she will be seeking turkey hunters revenge too.  :chuckle:

This evening our first Idaho bear hunter, on the second day of his hunt, put the hammer down on a big boar blackie. Unfortunately the big boar ended up a ways back into tough country, but they found him, the tag is notched, and they are busy packing out this bad boy as I type. Congrats to Jeffrey from Alabama on a fine bear! Photo fresh off the mountain!

(bear weighed about 270 pounds and hide squared 6'6", judging by his teeth he was about 8 to 10 years old)

Ricky got his second bird another nice tom, but Steve only saw more jakes and chose to wait for a mature bird and did not get his 2nd bird.

Yesterday and today our last turkey hunter hunted. He was from Georgia and needed a Merriam's to finish his slam. He nailed the first bird at 5:05 yesterday morning within minutes of leaving the roost. They passed some jakes in the afternoon and passed more jakes this morning, then mid day Daniel spotted a lone gobbler, they moved to a closer position, Daniel called, and the bird came running and they nailed him!

Today we spotted a pretty nice bear here in GMU 121 but he didn't give us enough time for a shot. Also saw a wolf, so that's two cougar and a wolf we've seen in the last few days.  :bash:

Another big bear down in Idaho, Brian caught this chocolate boar with the hounds, he was a nasty big old boar, never ran hard, stopped and bayed numerous times, they hiked in over of 5 feet of snow in shaded spots to get to where this bear finally treed. The bear squared 6'5", Bob is super happy.

This evening another hunter hit an even bigger bear, he took video of it running off several other bear, finally it stopped and he shot, after looking at the video Brian says it looks like at least a 7 footer. There was a little blood but not much and they lost the blood trail. Unfortunately Ruby the tracking dog was at home tired from the chase this morning. They are looking for this bear again in the morning when there is good light. My fingers are crossed!

Photos of Bob with his 6'5" chocolate boar and a photo of Ruby with the bear.
