Up until this year it seemed that everyone that put in for the Big Game Combo drew a licence.  I understand that this year is the first year that there were more applicants than tags.  But it shocks me that so many of us on the forum didn't draw.  I know the deer only tags have been harder to get for a few years now but the Combo tags have been close to 100% in years past.  it just seems weird to me that so many people didn't draw this year on the combo tag.  I could understand if 10% didn't draw due to the increase but it seems that close to 50% of the posts on here are un-successful combo's.  Montana must have had a massive increase in applicants for these licenses this year.

I think the first year I went over was 1987, I was 17. I believe there were only 2200 non resident deer tags and 11000 combos. because only 2200 deer tags there was a 10- 20 % chance of getting a deer tag and 90-100% chance of getting a combo. I always got the combo. then the combos started getting about 50% chance of drawing so they raised the price from 375 to 425. that dropped the numbers applying. then again there were more applicants than tags so they rasied it to 475. then 625 then 675 then 875 then 1000. so next year or soon, I bet there will be another increasearound 30 years I have not gotten drawn 2 times. Also in the beginning a bear tag was included at the 375.00 price. sorry alot of you guys never drew, I have 13 points for special tags and like wa. I never drew a special tag but did draw a combo. good luck

I have been applying about the same length of time. Only special permit I ever drew was a cow tag. I now only apply for trophy areas so my chance of drawing is pretty slim even with all the points

So how does that refund happen for those of us who didn't end up drawing? I've poked through Montana FWP's website a bit and can't find much.

I’d imagine you’ll see a refund back on your credit card

Any potential timeline? I'm switching CC's but don't want to jump the gun before that money gets put back on.

Well, how's this for errors?  I drew the combo license, and it shows in my "items that you hold" section, but then below it says that I was "successful" in drawing the combo license and "not successful" in drawing the combo license.  No mention of either my deer or elk permit.  I'm waiting for answers from the main office.  I smell a re draw!!!!!

Last year when we returned the elk portion it only took a few days for the refund to hit my card

Just talked to one of my partners.  He didn't draw the combo license.  Funny, I called the draw hotline to talk to someone about my issue and in their recording, it states that the left over combo licenses will go on sale May 7th.  How can there be any left overs if my partner didn't draw?  Man I hope that I get someone who knows what is going on.  Been on hold for 45 minutes now

Is anyone else having issues with the new MyFWP site?  It seems very glitchy - keeps kicking me out when I try to review my results.  Sounds like lots of reporting problems too.
