We fished Westport and got our 5 lings.  one 37 and the rest mid 20s to about 30.  A few lings thrown in the mix.

We went 6 for 6 on Butts out of Ilwacco yesterday 5 of them between 35 and 45lbs and one at 25 lbs.

Also we heard a few guys getting smacked by WDFW for having Lings and Butts retained during the same trip.

Why can't you keep butts and lings on the same trip?

Bottomfish Restrictions

The retention of bottomfish, except sablefish, Pacific cod, and all flatfish species (other than halibut), with halibut onboard is prohibited during the all depth halibut fishery from May 1 through September 30.  Lingcod retention is allowed on halibut days during the month of May in Marine Area 1 north of the Washington-Oregon border. The retention of yelloweye rockfish is prohibited.

Westport appears to have different wording that doesn’t mention the month of May.
