Another multiseason question?
« on: May 15, 2018, 02:04:26 PM »
I was selected for the multiseason elk tag and have a question about special permits. I assume once you purchase the multiseason tag you still have to purchase the special permit for your desired hunt choice, or are the special permits covered under the $180 fee for the multiseason tag? Also lets say for instance I'm applying for a East side muzzy special permit, can I also apply for a West side special muzzy permit? I know you can hunt both sides but was wondering if you are restricted to East or West with special permit selection. The reason I ask is because when I put the multiseason tag in my cart and then go to purchase the special permit of choice you can only buy one and then it says the maximum limit has been exceeded. Well that doesn't work very well if you are putting in for three different weapons? Any help is appreciated, thanks and sorry if this has already been discussed.

Buy your quality elk app and you get 2 choices. Can be east or west any weapon or weapons but only 2 choices. Same thing with antlerless or bull category, but you get 4 choices.

You can only buy one application for each category, the multi-season tag doesn't change that. On the one application, you can apply for archery, muzzleloader, or modern hunts. But, in the quality categories you're limited to two choices and in the others you're limited to four.

can leftover tags be purchased online this year?

I just noticed that people that put in for points only can't purchase.

With all the not putting in people i wonder how many leftovers there will be this year.

No they cant. Cause you have to turn in your current deer or elk tag to purchase the multi tag and that can only be done at a vendor.

I do believe you would be able to do that. Must not have put in for any special permits?

no i put in for several,i paid for deer elk cougar bear and discount small game before i put in for the multi.i told the clerk i did not want my deer and elk tags yet until after the draw was all done and i could get a chance at multi left overs and she said that was fine.

when you buy your licenses you don't have to get your tags right then.I will call W.D.F.W and ask them this question. Thanks everyone

You have to choose your tags (even multi) prior to putting in the draws. If you buy the apps and don't submit its a PITA and holds up the draw for everyone because someone else has to enter your point.

I don’t think you can apply for any deer or elk special permits without choosing a tag first

Before buying a deer, elk, bear, or turkey special permit application, you must first buy a license and tag for that species.

you're all right,I said i did buy i did choose eastern WA. you don't have to have your tags given to you.You can pick up your tags whenever you want.If you pick up your tags you have to give them back to W.D.F.W to get your multi tag.if you opt. to not get your TAG at the consumer at time of purchase then you don't and the dept. already knows this.
