Where are the NE Bears?!?
« on: May 16, 2018, 10:02:08 PM »
I spent 2 days in Aladdin last weekend hunting my tail off and I couldn't find a track. I assumed the bears would be in the areas with green grassy openings and saw pretty much every critters in the woods except a bear (or a track or scat).

I know this area is full of bears, its been decent for fall bears in the past, but where do these buggers hide right now??
Not asking for specific areas, but maybe elevations and terrain.....

Any advice??

Same goes for 49 Degrees. Saw tons of deer, tons of turkey, plenty of ticks, a pile of elk, couple moose, wolf tracks in the snow, buffalo on the Rez, and a cougar.....not a single bear sighting, bear track, not even a pile of bear scat.

I'm really hoping it's still a little early yet....

Same report for Huckleberry! Headed back after it again this weekend. I’m thinking it’s just a matter of days before they are out rummaging around. Know of a guy a bit north of where I’ve been hunting seeing 10 bears a Day in a different unit.  :dunno:

I've always seen more movement in late May.  See boars cruising close to shade in the warm days and sows and boars both in the late afternoons on grass/roots.

Not the easiest unit in the "NE Corner" to hunt

Not saying your source is unreliable but everybody knows a guy who sees "XX bears every day"  ;)

Find the food find the bear.  If no bear at food then no bear around.  Change locations?

Spring bears have food virtually everywhere though unless there is favorite like onions present.  Little different than fall bear IMO
