I drew quality archery in 2016 with 12 points then again in 2017 with 1 point, hoping to make it three straight this year.
What tag with one point? :yike:

I'm in the majority, never drawn for deer or elk.

I am a high school teacher, and have a student in my class that drew the Chelan Butte Ram Tag with 0 points, and another kid that drew Blue Creek Quality Bull with 2 points.  I had a senior last year that drew Wenaha Quality Bull with 2 points when he was 10 years old.  My first year teaching I had a girl that had drawn Bull Moose with 2 points and Quality Bull with 3. My son drew Blue Mountain Foothills whitetail tag his second year in the game. All of these kids killed nice animals.
Makes me think that WDFW knows who the kids are...   ;)  None of these were "youth only" tags...

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

 but you have to apply for the tag to get the tag and that would make a min. point count at 1.?

I’ve drawn buck deer with 6, quality elk 7, two quality deer tags both with 3 and second deer with 6. I’ve draw these tags all since 2012. I’m in the double digits with bull and oils. I had a good run for quite a while. I have had several friends draw great tags and it is just as fun as drawing the tag yourself. One thing I would recommend is getting to know the units you are applying for before you actually get drawn. I see it on here all the time people putting in for units that they have never stepped foot in. Take a camping trip several times during the summer and learn the lay of the land. It will increase your success dramatically.  :twocents: good luck on the draws everyone!

It was one of the more popular Yakima area tags. Took a 5x5 both years, I'm not a very good trophy hunter.

Some people think they’ll get the lay of a unit before they draw, because it usually takes so many points, so they think they have time. When they draw with very little points they get a bit surprised and desperate for info... it happens sometimes...

I've drawn Elk Westside archery White river 2 times. Once with 3 points and once with 9. I voted in the 0-5 catagory since it only let me vote once.

23 points this year for quality and regular bull, ghost pointed so 24 points next year.  I do not put in for both, one or the other, but out of the 23 years I’ve only ghost pointed quality once, now twice.  My wife has drawn 2 quality bull tags, both with 8 points.  One was a rifle rut tag, yes, I should be putting in with her!

Speaking for my hunting partner, he drew Peach's Ridge Quality Elk Archery last year, with 2 points. We were in disbelief. We saw more wolves than elk, he killed a decent 6 point last day of his hunt. That was the only elk he/we saw in 8 days of hunting hard.
