Knight muzzleloader peep sight combination
mallard:
Looking for input on setting up a Knight Bighorn for scope and peep sight. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and it looks like there are a number of options, but I'm undecided on which direction to head. I plan to start with some weaver style bases that will allow for interchangeability between rings and peep sight. For the peep sight I’d like to find one that can change apertures, has elevation adjustment, and works with a front fiber sight and hood or globe (leaning towards fiber and hood).
Here are the peep sights I’m aware of (feel free to suggest another option that may work):
NECG: Seems like this would provide the best elevation adjustment, but it doesn't appear to be able to be used as a ghost ring without losing zero.

Talley: This could also work, but I don’t see any elevation adjustment. I’m not sure how you’d get a zero if the elevation is off.

XS Sights: This may be the best option as it provides some elevation adjustment, but I don’t know if it will work with a front hood or globe setup.

Changing out the ghost ring for a threaded ghosts ring aperture will provide a number of aperture options.

For those whose use the NECG, is the elevation screw sufficient to hold the elevation while changing the aperture? Perhaps I can find an aperture hole size that will let in enough light in the dark timber. This may be a solution.
Does anyone have experience or know if the XS sight will work with a front fiber and hood?

@Sabotloader
I bet he knows.

Williams peep sights. for the bighorn. I use the WGRS and Sabotloader uses a different one that is more adjustable I can't quite remember the name but I am sure he will chime in. Do a search on Midway USA for peep sights for knight bighorn and you will see both options. Do some searching on this forum and you will see some extensive post from sabotloader on this also.
Good Luck

Personally I sue the Williams FP peep - I like it because it is adjustable just like a scope 1/4 minute clicks @ 100.
This is one mounted on a MK

Thanks for the feedback guys, but my understanding is that neither the WGRS or FP sights work with weaver bases. I'd prefer to avoid removing the scope bases every time I want to use the peep.
