Nevada 072 Jarbidge Wilderness
« on: June 11, 2018, 09:49:15 AM »
Anyone draw any of the October hunts? I have a November elk tag, trying to find someone that will be there in October so I can get some “updates” on conditions. I hunted this unit two years ago for deer, willing to share info. Also, anyone that wants to chime in on area 7 elk info, all my experience has been in the northern/northeastern portion 072,074, info on other areas is appreciated. I know the Nevada bios are helpful, I’ll be contacting them in October as well. Thanks.

I drew archery for Aug for deer. I Plan on hunting 72. Any info for deer helps (PM me if you are willing to share anything). I'd be happy to let you know of elk numbers for the area we hunt in August if you want to follow up with me thereafter.

I have heard that the eastern portion of the wilderness is better for elk than west. Congrats on the elk tag. Good luck!
Take up your bow, a quiver full of arrows, head out to the country and hunt some wild game.  GEN 27:3

I hunted Idaho side a couple years back on the border. Big open country and weather can get horrible so be safe and prepared. I was in 1.5’ of snow in the high areas of 47 in October!

Now that the wilderness is open again, has anyone been over yet?

I hunted anterless elk 66/71 think it was next door.  I should’ve done more research.  Fires did a lot of damage in area I was hunting. No services and no cell coverage.  Very very remote unit.  Bring several gas cans and most everyone I saw had truck parked and using ATV/side by sides to get around. Was still very dry just a few weeks ago.
