Since the press is all warmed up.. how about the .416?

I'm digging the 6.5, but all the Instagram operators would whine as it would damage their A36..... oops AR500 targets.

Bad picture but here's a 416 Boondoggle next to the 358, should come in a little behind the 416 Taylor. I don't have any 416 bullets around to show a loaded round.

I'm more surprised you own a 6.5 creedmore

No Creedmoor, but I used the 6.5 Creedmoor brass to form 270 AR cases. I wouldn't slum it with the Creedmoor....

Ever thought of just necking up a 325 WSM to 338?  Should give you about the same result but with a little longer neck.

I played with a 338/300 WSM for a while and it was pretty much the same performance that I'd get from this. I've always felt that the narrower Ruger case fed smoother through push feed actions than the WSM.

What are you planning to do for dies?   Custom?  Or just neck sizing?

I’m short on 358 bullets, this is what you get.  :chuckle:

If I did the 358 I’d need to have custom dies made. For the 338, 30 and 6.5 versions you can use a set of Hornady RCM or PRC dies to seat and neck size/shoulder bump and a 375 Ruger die to size the web. I like to try and use readily available dies for all my wildcats to save the time and hassle of getting custom dies.

How would this compare to the 338 Federal
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

The 338 Federal has quite a bit smaller case capacity than what Yorke's creation has so it wouldn't really be a very close comparison.

This would be 350+ fps faster than the 338 Federal. I’ll get a picture of the two next to each other.

Could do 375 as well.  With 235gr Barnes and Speer, 250gr North Fork, or 260gr Partitions should be a nice thumper.
