I don't need to beg for help at all either way I'll kill a big buck. Again not trying to make any one mad. It's crazy ones success makes another so jealous and angry. This will be my last response and I won't feed the negativity.  Good luck to all this hunting season. General and late hunters
Wondering how First Timers hunt went. Kind of lame to ask for information and not give any hindsight on your experience.

There are 4 key's to Chewuch mulies. If one thinks about it. You can figure it out. Most wilderness area deer are out by October 25th I read. A burn w food, a year around stream, dark timber bedding near one of the 4 migration routes. I have my Chewuch honey holes and spent about 45 minutes before a 4x4 came up draw and was down during general season. My shot was only I heard opening morning.. 4 year's ago I was seeing 10 to 12 4x4 or larger bucks from 2:30-end of hunting light on November 10th on.
We ended up with a 4x5 that dressed out at 283 pounds... I have 15 points and my Dad has drawn on 3 points 2x in 8 year's. Get away from the city and and look for areas like mentioned. I hunt between 3,500 and 6500 feet.
If there's a strong enough will there's a way until none left. Every year I hunt places people drive right by up. I hunt 1/2 to a mile away from road's and they have the feed, water and bedding area's.. Scout scout scout and cams find the does in those areas and the bucks are hiding nearby. Especially during the rut hunt.
We hunt other western state's and I look for the same quality area's.
I call biologists and game warden, butcher's etc. Then start a research on Google Earth and more.. Narrow down the unit to 6 to 10 holes. Hunt from daylight to day's end. I put a 800 miles on truck scouting before opening day or a solid week.

Any pics of the 283 buck?

Sorry for the wait boys, we got there on 10th and went straight to the woods as soon as we got into the area we seen a nice but tall, wide and decently heavy chasing 2 does around. He has small crabby forks up front with good forks in the back. We ended up passing on this guys 330yrds away. He gave us acouple oppurtunities at shots. He ended up being the best buck we saw all week. We out smarted ourselves thinking that hes rutting but not everything we want and this is just the first hour of bring there. Well we didnt see strong rut action like that again in the hills. Farmers fields they were running around everywhere. Well my grandma's birthday was the 18th and her health hadnt been the best so we wanted to be there for her and dad ended up shooting a decent 3x3 and I 4x4. Both younger deer but good deer. I was hoping for better with this permit but I can't complain. We got deer, had a great time in the woods with my dad and made it home for grandma's birthday. I'm writing this post with my phone and if I can figure out how to post pictures I'll put our deer up. Thanks for all of your support and encouragement. I hope 2019 everyone has a good year and there's better weather up there. Lol

I'm sorry the herd is in such bad shape.  There was a time where this was an incredible draw.
