They shoot sub moa in a savage 7mm that I have and when I shot a deer last year the bullet killed the deer fast so I guess that's good. In my tikka 7mm and Browning Abolt 338 they shot very poor groups so went with another brand.

The eldx is a fine bullet but it's not some magic whiz bang unicorn bullet.  It's a high BC cup and core bullet.  I shot the 212 in my 300wsm the last season and a half.   Very easy bullet to load.  Seemed like any powder charge i threw at it, it would shoot half minute.  They are a bit on the slow side though.  6 deer and two elk and I've found 6 jackets.  Jacket and core separation was almost a guarantee (which is fine).  Shots were from 95 out to 802.  Back to Berger for me.   :twocents:

All they are is a high BC SST, so plan accordingly.

Shooting them out of my 6.5-60AI, very happy with them.  Not sure they do anything a Berger 140 wouldn't but they're good and I've found excellent consistency from box to box.

They do well accuracy-wise at a hair over 3100.  Haven't killed anything with them yet except rocks and steel.  Just like with the Bergers or any bullet, shoot them behind the shoulder and they die  :dunno:
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Shot a few of the 175 ELD-X bullets in my 7mm Blaser Mag.  They seem to shoot pretty well and compared to my 180 Berger "go to" load, they shot about 60 fps faster.

If you're comfortable using Bergers on game then I imagine you'd be happy with the ELD-X. If I were to pick between the two I'd go with the Hornady. The plastic tip on the ELD-X reduces the potential for nose damage, which is a big reason for the bullet "failures" that people see.

He means Elite Hunter; Berger offers 250gr OTMs and 250gr Elite Hunters. The EH line is designed to expand better than the OTMs.

Yes elite hunter is what I meant.   A shot like that behind the shoulder would have been drt

Nope it was an otm they seem to work fine for me at longer distance. They seem to have worked like they should at 625 on my elk this year but not worth a dam up close. I’ve shot several other deer  “behind the shoulder shots” with similar results one at about 150 yards and the other just over 200 yards. Accurate bullets? Yes Long range terminal performance? Yes General all purpose bullet? No

Like I said earlier in this thread. Many of bergers failures are attributable to people using match bullets to hunt with and taking non vitals shots.  Otm’s are not designed for hunting. Will they work? Yes. Can they fail? Yes  do many folks attribute the failure to be bergers fault? Yes. Are they correct? No
