Got this email this afternoon:

WDFW FISHING RULE CHANGE
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, WA 98501-1091
http://wdfw.wa.gov
August 15, 2018

Marine Area 10 to close to hatchery chinook retention
Action:  Marine Area 10 (Seattle/Bremerton) will be closed to the retention of hatchery chinook salmon beginning Friday, Aug. 17.

Effective date: 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2018.
Species affected: Hatchery chinook salmon.

Location: Marine Area 10 (Seattle/Bremerton), excluding the year-round piers.
Reason for action: Preliminary estimates indicate that anglers have harvested more than 90 percent of the summer chinook quota since the fishery opened on July 16. The fishery will close to allow fishery managers to re-evaluate the catch and determine if any quota remains.

Additional information: Marine Area 10 will remain open to the retention of hatchery and wild coho salmon as part of the two salmon daily limit. Anglers must release chinook and chum. Sinclair Inlet remains open for the retention of hatchery chinook through Sept. 30. Anglers fishing the year-round piers have a daily limit of two salmon, one of which may be a chinook, but must release chum through Sept. 15.

For specific regulations, anglers should consult the 2018-19 Washington Sports Fishing Rules pamphlet available online at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations/.

Anglers can check WDFW’s website at https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/reports_plants.html for the latest information on marine areas that are managed to a quota or guideline.
Information contact: David Stormer, Puget Sound recreational salmon fishery manager, (360) 902-0058 or Mark Baltzell, Puget Sound salmon manager, (360) 902-2807.

Well I was out on that mid day tide yesterday and only caught shakers.  Didn’t see any fish caught either.  This was at Jeff Head.  I am not a 10% er so maybe it was just me but it was lights out last week and nothing yesterday.

Not from what I am hearing and reading.  They only open fisheries back up if after they really look at the numbers and there are room left in the quota and from what I am hearing there isn't.  But that's not official by any means.  But it does look like its all about slivers now.  Someone needs to rename this threat or start a new one from 2018 Area 9 and 10 king to SILVERS.  If you go out watch the regs on the silvers right now in those areas.  You can keep 2 in both areas but in area 9 you have to let the natives go and in area 10 you can keep hatchery or natives.
