Judge for side carry?
« on: July 20, 2018, 01:54:24 PM »
Was thinking of buying a Taurus judge for a side carry for archery season. Anyone carry one? Pros/cons, any other good options, looking to spend around $500. I like the option of 410 for grouse but I’m not sold yet. What do you guys think?

I have a Judge, a circuit Judge and two Bond Hand canons all using 410 /45 long colt.
I like the Bonds the best but the Judge is my  two. My son carries a Judge Public Defender.

These guns are designed for close up work.

A lot of guys don't like the Judge. I have killed grouse with it. But they all shoot PDX , slugs and buck shot better than shot shells.

The 45 long colt is a awesome round. :twocents:

:yeah: There is a lot of people who buy them thinking grouse but the range on them with smaller shot shells is very limited.

I bought one with hopes of a handy grouse gun. Didn"t shoot .410 or .45 well. Sent it off to Ahlman's for a choke install. Still didnt pattern at all. Traded it off.

Can you hunt grouse with one while archery hunting?
I'm not sure.
