Upper S. Fork Tieton Archery Cow?
« on: August 14, 2018, 09:42:17 PM »
I have narrowed down my archery elk hunt to Rimrock, camped out of Conrad Meadows. I would like to know if anyone has experience with hunting the upper south fork tieton basin for archery elk? It's a spike or antlerless season, so I will be hunting the first decent cow that presents herself.

Road to Conrad is washed out a mile from the meadows,  was open to the washout, then closed again for repair right about the time the fire started.  I've heard middle of September it would be open but not from official sources.  If repairs are finished then opening/closure will be dependent on the fire.  Miriam Fire is pretty well surrounded if not officially contained.

The road is closed all the way back at the airstrip, unless you own a cabin and are granted permission to enter at the gaurd station.

I'd start your search over and research just a little more on the next unit you pick. There are others with a spike the first week and cow the secondish, like rimrock.

what everyone else said the 1000 road is closed due to the fire I was up there last saturday not a lot of access in there right now. and even if they open the 1000 road its washed out and they have the gate closed again just west of grey creek campground for construction. road will be fixed for everyone but the archery guys. I have a bull tag for archery in rimrock it's going to be a tough hunt for sure with the limited access. and just a reminder antlerless opens up the 2nd week in there this year it's not the entire season
