Getting high with my son
« on: September 12, 2018, 11:01:03 PM »
Thank god it is that time of year again. Tomorrow at 3 pm my son and I are heading out to get high. We only get 3 days to be high but is the best 3 days of our year. Who else is getting high this weekend. Remember to be safe while you are high and pack it just right. Getting high sometimes leads to forgetting things. Be safe and good luck to all you high hunters.

I left yesterday. Road in  six miles and one of the horses decided he didn’t want to go anymore. Turned around, loaded them up and drove home. Going to get geared back up for hiking in. Headed back up tomorrow sometime. Good luck to you guys. If all goes well should be tagged out by 7:30!

That's a rough start. But you always seem to finish strong.  Would be nice to let a horse do the heavy lifting. Good luck and be safe.

Wanna get HIGH....

Yep Im headed in on Monday. I was going to head out on Fri but due to the weather and falling off a ladder 2 days ago and landing on the corner of stairs (on my butt cheek)  Im still pretty locked up.  You need two but cheeks to hike .  hahh.

First solo hunt on the high country.  Planning on 5 days. Lets get it on...

I've got a lunch appointment for work tomorrow, then it's a beeline for the high country.

Good luck everybody!

I’m pretty sure I parked next to you at the trailhead this morning. We’re you and your son in a white van? You weren’t kidding about the title of your thread. I think I got a second hand high getting ready to go. If I were to smoke that stuff I would smoke what you were smoking. Stanky *censored*! :chuckle:

32 hours I would have went nuts!

We saw a giant bear pop over the ridge after a hunter took 4 shots in the next basin over wish I would have been able to make a move on that bear probably a booner!

That wasn't him, it was some younger guys that took the trail to the right about a half mile past the boundary (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about). Savagehunter and his son were in the Ford Ranger neareast the trail head sign with their packs on the roof.

You ain't kidding. Seen more mountain goats than I did legal bucks. Couldn't take it anymore so I made the hike out this morning a day early. Saturday and Sunday the weather really did suck up there.
Sunday I watched Savage and his kid just about get taken out by a rock slide with rocks the size of Volkswagens coming down. Scary stuff. Glad no one got hurt.
