This morning we hiked up into the National Forest, caught one doe up on a ridge.

But the real gem of this hike was when we heard antlers slamming together.  Our excitement perked hoping it was a couple of stud whitetail going at it.  But then we heard the scream and knew it was a pair of bulls.

We rounded the corner and my son got to see 7 blue mountain bulls in all their glory, including one who was fully crowned and likely pushing 350”.

My son had to go home today to get ready for school and I pushed into some river drainages.

I ended up seeing 15-ish mule deer including a rag 4x3 who was as dumb as they come.  I’m shocked he made it through general.

This evening found me sitting on the same spot, hoping a buck would come in after the does.  Three does showed themselves, but no buck.  Off to a different unit tomorrow to try and change my stats.

Saw four coyotes today. Saw a ton of deer on some private ground we got access to and adjacent properties. Hit the high country in Dayton for lunch and saw four does in the national forest. Headed back to blue creek for the evening and saw at least 30 does in farmers fields. In blue creek we saw 30 deer, couple of small bucks fighting but not shooters.

Tomorrow is our last day. It’s been a great hunt so far fingers crossed for one more opportunity tomorrow.

I love it there.

The little bird may have hinted that a buck hit the dirt this afternoon.  :IBCOOL:

I won’t confirm Ricks daughters story...but I did miss an absolute pig this morning.  Tough, time sensitive shot.  Saw 5 total bucks today, three in private.  I’ll be back at it tomorrow trying to knock one down!

It’s getting cold as F out here!!!

I'll drop off my gun on my way home tomorrow if you want to actually hit something...

Good luck dude! Looking forward to seeing how the week pans out.

Good, just followed your teamdumbchoices (I think) on Instagram; that will show you more info.

Also, need to get out soon to kill birds or paper...

Long weekend and didn't get home until late last night.  Tons to do but here is a pic.  I will start a new thread with the whole story and it's a great one when I get some more time.

Good luck to the rest of the tag holders.  It is starting to happen.  Saw three bucks cruising yesterday all day looking for does.  It should get better as the season moves on.

Don't give up.
