@Curly I don't suppose those boots were stored next to a heater vent?

Love my Irish Setters!!!  Will never buy another pair of Danners at any price!  They failed me too many times.

I've had Danners for years and they were okay and then switched to wolverines and they lasted 4 yrs and last Christmas wife took me boot shopping and I tried over a dozen boots and settled on Irish setters.

Comfortable and feet didn't get cold in single digit snow temps or in waist high snow.
wait a second!!!!!! I thought you hunted in white Nike's  :dunno:

:yike: :yike: :yike: why would you air my biz like that?!?! Maybe i wanted to sound cool and fit in to... :'(

You know what!!! I bought a couple cans of bang to support Pepshi but now I'm not going to drink them...I'm going to throw them out in the woods while I'm driving eating my shreds and drinking a monster...there how do you like that, huh, huh, huh, huh?!?! @Karl Blanchard
I wouldnt!  They could be worth a lot of money here in the next week since we are almost out.  We haven't been able to get an order since September.  Literally the whole market is about to be empty :bash:

WHAT!!! I remember when that happened with surge a few years ago. I ordered a ton and when everyone was out I was selling like cracky the crack dealer. Lol had customers in the store posting we had some. Hell, I jokingly told 1 kid I only had 2 cases left and he bought both. Hahaha I almost felt bad, almost. :chuckle:
You need to quit it with the thread jacks sir! Keep it on topic or else...

And for the record, surge was garbage  :chuckle:

Nope. They were in my wife's closet. No heater in there.

I thought real men wore camo Crocs. Do you know why Crocs have holes in the top? They're there to let your dignity escape.

Holy crap. Boots and elk racks everywhere. Even labs as door greeters :chuckle:

Give me a few weeks and I'll have a review for you all. I bought the hoffman explorer 8" uninsulated so I can wear them for work in the spring too.

Irish Setters are still one of my favorite insulated hunting boots. I found this site useful when choosing the right boots for myself: https://bestontests.com/warmest-hunting-boots/

Flat feet here, but a normal width.  For work boots I had a pair of White's Smoke Jumpers that were given to me when a concrete finisher friend retired.  Those lasted for another 3 years, were rebuilt, and lasted another 12.  They were heavy, but could handle abuse.  Danner's are my go to work boot these days.  They are comfortable right out of the box with no break-in period.  If I was abusing them in the field I would guess I would get 2 years out of them, but I am an office guy the past 4 years so they have lasted.

I have not found a light hiker, early season boot that I can use more than 2 years.  Usually tread wears out or stitching starts to break.  Late season pheasant hunting I am usually wearing Big R rubber boots since I am in water, or crossing water a lot.  My Meindl Alaskans have lasted a long time but unless I am in rocky steep country I don't want to wear them.  No experience with other mountain boots because I was the guy wearing light hikers with no tread on them, until I almost killed myself on some wet granite rocks in the Okanogan.
Dreams are forever on the mind, realization in the hands.

I went full send on cyber Monday.  Picked up 3 pairs of boots.

Asolo fugitive

Schnees granite VI

And another pair of my beloved scarpa kenisis pro gtx.

Took the asolo's out for a spin this weekend and was very pleased.  They were comfortable right out of the box however it in my experience if there's no break in time they probably are going to last me very long. Time will tell.

Schnees granite are some of the best boots out there and are made in the US. If I had the money I would buy a pair but they are worth it form what I understand. I'm on the hunt for a new pair of boots after my Crispi boots failed this year and after terrible customer service I will never buy another pair of boots from them.
