Mule deer are not rutting, bighorn are.  I wish I could report on whitetail, hopefully later today.

Watched a spike chase a few does around yesterday in 127. Should be close!

Hunted 124 for a couple hours this morning before the kids basketball, then this evening checking out a new spot.  Saw a 2 point on the drive in that looked like he was out on the prowl. Other than that lots of does out feeding and no sign of rut activity. Pretty small sample size tho

117.. zero rut activity. Saw 3 mature bucks 3 1/2 year old and two 4 1/2 years plus. They were out and about a little earlier than usual, but many does in the area and they weren’t checking or harassing them. Even though the bucks weren’t together, they were close enough to each other to know the other one was there and could care less. Not too surprised, pretty typical. It will start later this week.

Mule deer are rutting hard in 215, little to nothing for whitetails yet.

Just got back from quick trip to 117. Buddy shot his first buck, little spike. Checked cameras and have pics of bucks sparing and showing good rut activity. Few scrapes around as well

I am currently hunting my Idaho whitetail tag.  Got out yesterday- I believe I rattled in two bucks, but the wind was shifty, and I heard some running in the brush.  Saw two does in the morning, but no buck after them (yet).  Other than that, quiet.

It's on!!      While BBQ ing a salmon about 6 tonight there were two bucks fighting in the front yard. they tussled a  bit and broke off to check out a doe further to the north.
Just two minutes ago (7:52 pm) I checked out a buck crossing the yard nose to the ground and as soon as he saw a doe the chase was on. The other does in the yard scattered. Think I'll just sit on the deck tonight and see what else happens.
