A Buck History (Groucho) legacy continues...
« on: November 12, 2018, 07:08:00 AM »
These are crops so you can focus.  My third year with this buck.  Yes you could be hunting this buck, so keep dreaming!  He has been in my Calendar for two years.  He may make it a third.  Tough competition this year, and all I got of him were pics in the fog.

I was wondering what Groucho meant till I looked at the pictures, Love the eyebrows!

What a dandy! At least 25" wide, good mass, and a survivor.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

I have no idea how he has survived the hunting and poaching pressure.

Super cool! Interesting how the rack seemed to clean up and lose a lot of the extra points in 2017 but they came back with a vengeance in 18. (Not speculating its a different buck, it is definitely still him.) Is this a common thing? Any idea what might make that happen?

I thought he was old the first time I saw him.   I posted a topic on here how this was a world class buck.   I got shredded.  He was tucked under a tree with a doe in the pouring rain and to me looked like an old monarch.  His extras etc.   I look over a lot of bucks, some of them even big, lol, and this guy just did it for me.   Funny how some are more interesting than others.

Check out his little dropper. Lol.  I hear ya!   It’s why I thought I’d share.  If people like this sort of thing.   I figured he was just going downhill then it was like he relapsed on roids.

Not often you can use "brow" and "browtine" in the same sentence.  :chuckle:

Sometimes it’s hard to know the age of a deer when they never really get bigger. The 2 sheds are the same buck, the antler on the right is from 2013 and the other is from 2015. Some deer just don’t grow. I understand you can gage there age off body weight, swayed back etc. just thought I would share this 3 years of antler growth.
