Umtanum 342 late archery
« on: November 19, 2018, 11:54:10 AM »
Am I reading this right that 342 has only been open for deer and youth/senior elk hunts this year?? I am taking a disabled veteran (he can walk well enough)  out next week for a couple days and we are looking at this unit. Hunted Bumping last two years and never late. Is this a good call? Also, we have a camper; if we are to use it, where would be a good base camp. Thanks!

Its been open for Quality Bull, ML elk, Rifle season deer/elk, ML deer, so its been open for alot of seasons, and now late archery. You can camp right in the feed lot with your camper out past wenas lake. Plenty of people do it for other seasons. If you have an ATV or side by side thats the best way to get around up there.

Drove all over there scouting on Saturday and didn't see any ELK. Good luck but not sure where they are hiding.

Thanks! I think we are gonna focus on 3681 and Rimrock. Snow levels are high (for now) and I have hunted Rimrock, so I am a little familiar. Thanks again and good luck to anyone headed out.
