EDC Spare Mag
« on: December 17, 2018, 08:06:49 PM »
Just wanted to get an idea on something I’ve been working on lately.
How many of you guys carry a spare mag for your EDC sidearm on your person? What method do you use to carry said mag? How many would carry one more with a better option that wouldn’t be in the way, or be visible? What would you be willing to pay for something that fit the bill better than your current option?
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to answer.

I carry a spare mag using the “neomag”  It’s a little magnetic clip that works well, looks like you have a pocket knife clip in your pocket.  They come in different sizes for whichever your edc choice is.  Keep in mind I’m only speaking for single stack magazines.

Thank you!
I am working on something very similar to those with some design changes suggested by a couple of LEOs I’m working with.

Pocket is easiest and seems to spread the weight around away from the belt. Coat, pants, or shorts.  All have pockets. Problem is the mag getting cocked and wedged in the pocket, and I always check and readjust.

With my normal EDC, no I just put extra mags in key places. Normally I have on in my gym bag and extras in my truck (along with AR mags). If I'm carrying my larger EDC (sig p320C) there's normally a reason for it and I carry extra mags in a double mag holder on my belt. I don't like the idea of digging for mags in my pocket not to mention its really easy to get dirt and other garbage in them.

If Im carrying my glock 17, I extra mag in a single mag o.w.b pouch. For the 1911, same setup but a double mag pouch. In the warm months when I carry a smaller gun, I just carry and extra mag or 2 in that little coin  pocket thing just above the right hand front pocket. Im left handed so its in about the right spot.
Practical accuracy and a packable rifle.
Blued steel and walnut is always better.
