There’s an argument for both sides, in court I can see a ticket getting thrown out.

I'd have to side with grundy.  I just always assume rifle=orange in WA but the regs read otherwise

I wonder if it is spelled out clearly in the packet?

Anyone hunting in an area that is open for modern firearm deer or elk hunting must meet hunter orange requirements if they are hunting any of the following species: Bear, Bobcat, Cougar, Coyote, Deer, Elk, Fox, Grouse, Hare, Rabbit, or Raccoon.

They were hunting in an area open for modern firearm elk hunting (otherwise their hunt would not be legal).  It was open in a very restricted way, but not unlike a quality tag unit where we know the orange requirements apply if you are using a rifle.  There are some areas that only offer one modern quality tag and according to the above you would still need to wear orange.

It wasn't open for modern firearm. It was open to an any weapon permit.

As for the hunter orange requirement, the shooter contacted the game warden for the area prior to the hunt and confirmed that since there was no modern season open for deer or elk, no hunter orange was required. The only thing he advised was he may want to wear orange on the pack out as "natives" were able to hunt the area at the time. As for making fun of the shooter I don't know where you're getting that? I was the camera guy on this hunt and in no way was I making fun of him in any way shape or form. He told me in the beginning that he wanted to shoot a mature bull. In no way was I going to call him off of that bull when it came out and he said he wanted to shoot it, I couldn't care any less about scores. I just wanted him to shoot a bull he would be happy with, could've been a spike, I wouldn't have cared, as long as he was happy with it. Obviously people were going to know where we were, there was no hiding it and no intention of hiding it, my joke on figuring out where we were is because it was so foggy and we dealt with fog all but about three hours of that hunt. Yes I know it's a well known spot and I've spent plenty of time in it along with a lot of other people. But like or dislike, thanks for watching.

DJ and us all grew up together. We all get along great and if you watch anymore of the series you will see that we all love hunting together and banter is normal. Most of Tyson’s chip shots were directed at Devin and it had to do with all the bulls being giants. We knew what was possible on this hunt and relayed that to DJ but also knew he was going to shoot what he wanted to and we were all for that.

thanks for the update and clarification Prime Time!...I was just giving my observation/critique and didn't mean to start a "discussion"...like I said, I like the videos, and especially that they are of local guys and "local" hunts that anyone can plan and do (out of state stuff). Maybe lesson learned that a little dialog and "in context" would keep "guesses" from happening. For a home movie obviously not needed, but for a commercial production it obviously helps with PR. For what it's worth, the other films I watched...Idaho elk episodes so far, were much better produced.  The way the WA episode presented-with the jokes, dialog selfies, and remarks of secret spots-it portrays differently...I'll keep watching, along with Into High Country and the other shows that are "way over produced." It passes the time until next hunting season.

I’ve been watching and every time the redhead guy opens his mouth and talks it makes me cringe. Other than that it’s not bad.
