Talked to the local meat cutter on Navarre this fall, he had three different cougars on his camera on Navarre.  Early  Spring, my neighbor let their three shepherds out one  evening 9:00, Cougar snatched one immediately, 2 Game officers came and shot it on my property that night. I helped haul out the cat and dead dog next morning-- you could see where it carried that dog running. only could see the dogs tail marks in the snow as the cat held it in the air running. 135 lb male cougar , 90 lb shepherd   Beebe Bridge area Douglas Co.

I have seen a few cats up there and in the general area. They are thick

Sorry for the loss of the dog.  How I wish this happened in Seattle somewhere.  Things need to change.

I agree, sorry to hear about the shepard, unfortunately I,m afraid this kind of stuff is the beginning. Hikers, folks on bikes, pets, you bet things need to change. People, pets, livestock and our big game herds, these things will take on anything when hungry and oh ya, lets pamper and coddle 100-150lb canines that like to attack, kill and eat the same things! What a messed up Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, along with their politics.

It's a political thing, as long as the game department is run by those with their political agenda nothing will change. This department doesn't give two *censored*s about wildlife. Their agenda is to make the wildlife despair with predators to end hunting then start on the gun ban.

What would happen if a cougar killed an orca?  That would be interesting for sure, probably just swept under the rug like seals.

I'm sure climate change is forcing the cats closer to the cities.  What we really need is a good runoff water plan to fix these tragedies - and probably a tax or two as well.

Heard another dog got killed up there but haven't confirmed this. In the entiat valley several differnt cats are getting livestock and pets, know of a goat and a dog, which I seen and heard of a few more. Its crazy bad right now. Every one has seen or had a cat experience in the last two years. I find that insane, shouldn't even see them. Before Christmas after a fresh snow, cut 8 different set a of tracks from silver falls down to almost the Columbia. That was just off the pavement, all close to homes

Not only higher ups but the newer lib bio's that skew info for their political biases!  Just look at the most vocal in the predator debate on this site or those who attack and ridicule wolfbait and others whenever they post these factual instances of events.

 :bash:
Nothing to see here, pay no attention to the predator behind the curtain.  :bash:
