WTB: Basic Takedown Recurve Bow
« on: May 09, 2019, 12:39:45 AM »
I've never done archery, but want to give it a try. Looking for a starter takedown recurve bow to try on small game and so forth to see how I'm liking it. Guess somewhere around 40lbs should be just fine.
If anyone's got one for a good deal, feel free to PM me or post them in the comments.
Thanks in advance !

I havenít shot one but a lot of the traditional sites are filling up with people saying the black hunter recurve is well worth the $120-140 bucks. For a takedown find something that says ILF compatible. Itíll give you 100s of choices on limbs, weights, looks, and longbow or recurve. ILF is international limb fit. Best of luck and welcome to the addiction!
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Amen

I have a Samic Sage. It's a great starter bow. Samic no longer makes them but there are a couple of companies that make  the identical bow. You should be able to be out the door with a half dozen arrows for under $250.

I purchased mine some years ago at Riverside Archery in Mount Vernon and I know they carry the Sage Clones.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Should add, I used a Martin jaguar elite that I got used for $150 to win a couple archery tournaments in Texas. That bow was pretty sweet but I sold it when I got a custom made.

Think Samick Sage makes the Cabela's brand recurve bows. They usually go on sale for less than $100, so I guess it'll be a great deal.
