Metal Mill out of Chehalis seems pretty decent and delivery was reasonable.

I used them also.  Was referred by my neighbor.  Very pleased with the product.  They do have a bit of a lead time, probably like most of these companies.

I have what appears to be the same cover but I bought mine from All Steel NW but it looks like they are out of business now. The cover is built by a larger company that I believe is named Coast to Coast.  It’s been a good cover and they installed mine for about $3k about 3 years ago and measures 35x12x12.  I would advise buying one that is at least 14 wide and 3-4 longer than your trailer so that you can open all your doors when parked under the cover.

That’s a decent price, I’m looking at 35x18x 13 tall. So far I have a quote for 4,690 from metal mill. We plan to move in about 7-10 years, so I’m wondering if I should just build a smaller wood shelter to save money.

I looked into these pretty serious a few years ago but ended up building one instead, and ended up adding on to it for the boat to. The metal ones are pretty quick and easy tho

Look at what you would have into a pole building. You would have a lot better structure for just a little more money. That said I've got the metal carports. They are good for the price.

If you are in S.W. Wa.
Exit 68 off of I-5. Half mile east on highway 12 corner of hwy12 and Avery road.  Is where they are all built. Worth stopping in and talking with them. Very busy place working 7 days a week

Problem with a pole bldg.is you need a permit which also involes the "storm water run off" Gestapo

That's how John was selling them in Chehalis. No permit needed. Then the assessor started reporting them to the county and the building department went after something like 300 people that bought carports from him and didn't get a building permit. I had to get a permit for mine. This is in Lewis county.

I would be surprised if you could get lumber, roofing and concrete for less than the cost of a metal structure.

Tagging need to get a 30x10x12 or so. Those prices above seem super reasonable considering what I’ve been paying for a storage unit...

I doubt it would be less, but if your pouring cement the cost would be close to the same no matter which structure your putting it in. With a pole building you will have a way better building. If that's a consideration.

I guess that should not surprise me but it does disappoint me.

I also used Cover Your Toys for my building, and it is a BIG ONE @ 45' X 30' and 14" at the sides.  Very happy with the product and after one RV and not being covered when not in use, I can say that we were not going to let that happen again.  I see one talking about what structure they should go with if moving in 7 to 10 years?  Well go with something or you may not have an RV left in 7 to 10 years with our weather out here on the Wet Side.

Once you cross 14" high (it may be slightly less than that) you have to have the double legs so that added to my cost and also added the cantilever front just to give myself a little more wiggle room slinging that things around on my property, I have some big trees and landscaping that doesn't always make it easy.

Overall, very pleased with the outcome and all the extra room I have (I do someday plan on picking up a cargo trailer for maybe making a specialized off-road deep woods hunting rig).  For now plenty of room for the 5th wheel, slides out and even take in a camp fire under cover if we want... yea, we did do that this weekend.. hahaha....

I used metal mill in chehalis a couple years ago and bought a 30x12x12  for about 2k delivered.  I installed which was a pain in the butt,  I recommend whomever you use pay the extra for them to install..

I went with Randy at Cover your toys for my shelter, put the down money on it last week.  Expect it in about 4 to 6 weeks, cost was around 4,500 after taxes.  Randy seems like a good guy, likes phone calls and not texting, old fashion type guy.  We are getting a 35x18x13, covered on sunny side, one panel on the other side, open front and back.

Most jurisdictions require permits and engineering for the metal ones too.......I know Douglas county does.

Just ordered a 30x35 enclosed storage garage from Randy. It’ll fit our 30’ class A motorhome and 19’ Grady White. The building is about 20K, plus engineering, concrete, permit, taxes, electric will total about 35K.  Not bad!

How was it anchored? With the occasional 60+ wind we get in Eastern Washington. Did they say what the wind shear was for it?

When I anchored mine I cut an 8ft. 4x4 in half. Buried 2ft in the ground with cement and lag bolted through the legs and into the 2 ft. of 4x4 sticking out of the ground. Did this on every other leg. Its not going anywhere and really stiffened it up!

UPDATE:...  Seen this thread pop back up, looks like plenty of research time has been had.  Again, I went with Cover Your Toys and had pics on previous page.  Well, I have since picked up that cargo trailer, carry the SXS and quick converts to a nice hunting "cabin" deep in the woods.  Thought I would throw up a pic of both of them under the cover.  Going on two plus years with the cover, still couldn't be happier.  Such a great feeling having your stuff out of the weather and rain and staying so clean.

36x12x12 $2400.  36x16x12 $3100.  Prices for kit only no install, rounded eave style.  I just checked my local guys.  2 week delay.  I will be doing one soon I think.

I have used Versa Tube in the past.  Make sure to run the metal vertical on the roof if you are in snow country, on all  metal buildings or the seams will hold the snow back like a snow brake  and collapse your building. Some MFG's will need hat channel to run horizontal across the trusses to accommodate vertical metal roofing.

Put a 30x20 extension on my shop...not cheep but if it ever goes over, my 5 bay shop is going with it. If you do something other than a kit set up pay very close attention to height (i.e. with the AC unit)...I almost made a big mistake. I also had a concrete slab poured which again wasn't cheep but if I every go away from the RV/Trailer thing I will have an amazing covered patio

Being a concrete mudslinger I plan to pour a small footing/wall to set the shed on if I buy.  Wind is a beach. :chuckle:
